The Fascinating World of Plant Transpiration and Water Transportation

In Room 4, the students have been captivated by the amazing world of plant transpiration and water transportation. Under the guidance of Mr. Lee, the students have been exploring the different ways plants absorb and transport water.

During a recent experiment, Mr. Lee placed a plastic bag on a plant and left it overnight. The next day, the bag was full of water droplets which the students learned was due to the process of transpiration, where plants release water vapor through their leaves. The students were amazed to learn that plants can sweat and breathe just like humans do!

To further their understanding, Mr. Lee conducted another experiment where he placed cabbage leaves in different coloured liquids. The next day, the cabbage leaves had changed colours, and the students learned that this was due to the process of water transportation, where the plant's root system absorbs water and nutrients from the soil and transports them up to the leaves.

The students were excited to learn about the different types of transportation systems in plants and how they work together to keep the plant healthy. Through the engaging teaching methods and hands-on experiments, it sparked a love for science in the students, and they are eager to learn more about the fascinating world of plants.

Room 4' Planting Story

A barrel was given to each classroom. The students in Room 4 were excited to use it for a special project. They decided to turn it into a beautiful flower pot, and their teacher saw this as an opportunity for a unique learning experience.

The class started by designing what the flower barrel would look like and learning about the different parts of plants and what they need to grow. They discussed the importance of soil, water, and sunlight. Then, they learned how to properly plant seeds/seedlings in the barrel and how to care for them as they grew.

As the flowers grew, the students learned about pollination and the important role that bees and other insects play in the process. They even got to observe bees in action as they visited the flowers in the barrel.

The students were proud of their beautiful flower pot and all the hard work they put into making it grow. They learned about science, nature, and the importance of taking care of living things. And every time they looked at the flowers, they were reminded of the amazing things they accomplished together.

It was not just about planting flowers, but also about learning important lessons about the natural world. The students gained knowledge about the life cycle of a plant, how to properly care for living things, and the important role that bees play in pollination. They learned skills that will stay with them for a lifetime and had fun while doing it.

This experience was a great example of how a simple project can turn into an amazing learning experience that stays with us forever. The flower pot project in Room 4 showed how even a small act can make a big impact, and that learning can happen in many different ways.
